On today’s episode of the Health Justice Radio Collective, we look at the relationship between precarious employment and risk of poor health outcomes. We first speak with Professor Wayne Lewchuk from the School of Labour Studies at McMaster University about his forthcoming book, “Working Without Commitments: Precarious Employment and Health” co-authored by Professors Marlea Clarke and Alice de Wolff. We then speak with Frank Scheer, Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Associate Director of the Medical Chronobiology Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital about the impact of shift work on risk of cardiovascular disease and his paper, “Adverse metabolic and cardiovascular consequences of circadian misalignment” published March 2009 in the PNAS.
